PART-TIME CONTROLLER

AdSavants is seeking an experienced Part-Time Controller to oversee the financial and accounting functions of our agency and serve as a trusted financial resource to our leadership team.
This is an ideal opportunity for an experienced accounting professional who enjoys being hands-on, working closely with management and playing an important role in the financial operations of a small, established business—while maintaining the flexibility of a part-time schedule.
The position is expected to require approximately 2.5 to 3 days per week and will be structured as a hybrid role, combining time in our St. Louis office with the flexibility to work remotely.
What You'll Do
The Part-Time Controller will have responsibility for the agency's day-to-day accounting and financial management, including:
Financial Reporting & Accounting
- Prepare timely monthly and quarterly financial statements and management reports
- Manage the general ledger, journal entries and monthly closing process
- Oversee accounts payable, accounts receivable, expenditures and billing
- Maintain accurate accounting records and appropriate internal controls
- Prepare sales and use tax returns
- Review and reconcile agency credit card activity
- Serve as the primary liaison with our external CPA firm for annual federal and state tax filings
- Provide financial analysis and ad hoc reporting to agency leadership
Budgeting, Forecasting & Cash Management
- Develop and manage the agency's annual budget
- Monitor actual results against budget and analyze significant variances
- Provide ongoing cash-flow monitoring and forecasting
- Manage bank accounts, monthly bank reconciliations and banking relationships
- Identify opportunities to improve operating efficiency and manage expenses
Payroll & Human Resources Administration
- Process and administer payroll in coordination with our payroll provider
- Coordinate annual W-2s, 1099s and quarterly payroll tax filings
- Administer employee benefits, insurance, retirement plans and PTO records
- Coordinate employee benefit enrollment and communication with benefit providers
- Manage the financial and administrative components of new-employee onboarding
- Review employee offer letters and maintain related employment documentation
What We're Looking For
The ideal candidate will bring a combination of strong accounting skills, sound business judgment and the ability to work independently in a small-company environment.
Qualifications include:
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field
- Significant experience in accounting, finance, budgeting or a related discipline
- Strong working knowledge of GAAP and applicable IRS requirements
- High level of proficiency with QuickBooks
- Experience managing budgeting, forecasting, financial reporting and cash flow
- Strong analytical, organizational and problem-solving skills
- Excellent attention to detail and commitment to accuracy
- Ability to communicate financial information clearly to non-financial colleagues
- Comfortable working independently and across multiple functions
- Prior supervisory or financial-management experience
- Advertising agency experience strongly preferred
